Some cases treated by Dr. K. G. Sharda

CASESTUDY - I

Name :  Mr. N. P.
Age : 15 years
Treated from : 26/12/2000
Symptoms : Twitchy air ways, Coughing, Wheezing, Chest tightness, Shortness of breath, Constipation and General debility.

Diagnosis :

Bronchial Asthma – “TAMAK SVASSA” Disease was of ‘Kapha’ in Nature.

Treatment :

During acute attack a hot chest and shoulder pack was recommended to have sedative effect on nerves; sipping of hot milk or hot water was advised as also inhalation of steam to relieve spasms, avoid expouser to smoke, perfumes, paints and chemical adours. Expouser to cold was to be avoided.

Diet : 

The patient was asked to  avoid animal foods, mucus producing food such as Curd, Bananas, Sugar, Sweets, Black gram etc.. The patient was advised to take Green vegetables, Carrot, Cucumber, Pulses and Ginger powder with hot water.

Medicines : 

LaxmivilasRasa(Tablet), Chandramrta Rasa(Tablet), Srngarabhra Rasa(Tablet),  Svasakasacintamani Rasa(Powder), Sitopaladi Churn(Powder), Abharaka Bhasma(Powder), Sringa Bhasma, (Powder) Kamyab Churna(Powder).

Considerations :

To do some mild exercise and correct  postures to breathe comfortably, learn to engage both abdominal muscles and diaphragm by functional breathing techniques of yoga – practice simple ‘Pranaayamas’, ‘Antar Mouna, and meditate to relate to overcome nervousness.

The treatment lasted for three months thereafter the patient recovered fully.

CASESTUDY – II

Name : Mr. G. D.
Age :  39 years
Treated from: 05/08/2001

Symptoms : 

Acidity, gases, vomiting sensation, discomfort, chest burning, depression, weakness, anger, fear etc.

Diagnosis : 

Hyperacidity – “Amla pitta”.

Treatment : 

Patient was advised to avoid pungent and sour food items, alcoholic preparations, salt etc. He was further instructed to overcome anger, fear, excessive exposure to sun and fire, to avoid intake of dry vegetables and alkalis; but to take food at regular intervals.

Diet :   

Patient was advised to take milk regularly, intake of old rice, wheat flour, green leafy vegetables and sweet juices were permitted. Coconut water was recommended in hyper acidity condition. Patient was asked to avoid – tea, coffee, alcohol and certain chemical drugs, sweets, ghee and butter milk.

Medicine : 

Sukumara Ghrita(Tablet), Mukta Pisti(Powder), Sitopaladi Churna(Powder), Tapyadi Lauha(Powder), Guduci Sattva(Powder), Kamyab Churna(Powder),etc.

Considerations : 

Avoid pain relieving and antiarthritic drugs, avoid food like meat etc. which is not easy to digest. Moderate mastication of food in this condition was advised.

Treatment lasted for 4 months thereafter he was cured from hyperacidity which he had been suffering since last 5 years.

  CASESTUDY – III

Name :  Mr. S. K.
Age :  42 years
Treated from :   06/02/2002
Symptoms :    Chronic constipation – ‘Kabziyat’ or ‘ Anaaha’ or ‘Koshta Baddhata’.

Treatment :  

The patient was advised to take a glass of water in the morning, (the water works  better if kept overnight in a copper vessel), besides he was asked to soak twenty or thirty black raisins in a glass of water and drink the water after adding lemon juice to it. He was recommended to include adequate oil or ghee to ensure lubrication of the colon.

Diet :   

Patients was asked to avoid beans : dry grains, cabbage family plants, mushrooms,  spicy foods, excessive sugar, cheese, curd, potatoes and pork. He was asked to eat plenty of fruits (Guava) and leafy vegetables, use whole meal flour and not refined flour, Papaya and Sugarcane juices were recommended as they are effective in relieving constipation. The patient was asked to use castor oil, Triphala powder or Haritaki (Harad) powder to get rid of constipation at times.

Medicines :

Kamyab Churna(Powder), Shank Vati (Tablet), Arogyavardhini(Tablet)

 Abhyarisht(Syrup), Drakshasava(Syrup),

Considerations : 

He was asked not to withhold the natural flow of urine or faeces, avoid fried substances; smoking, hard drinks and drugs. He was further advised to do brisk waking in the morning for half an hour and avoid being lethargic.

This treatment lasted for 3 months. 

 

CASESTUDY – IV

Name: Mr. G. P.
Age :   70 Years

Treatment from :  

14/05/2001

Symptoms :  

Giddiness, uneasiness, weakness, breathlessness, foggy vision, gases, constipation                                 etc.

Diagnosis : 

Hypertension – (High Blood Pressure) “Uchhya Rakta Chaap”.

Treatment :  

The patient was advised to maintain healthy weight, to restrict food rich in salt and sodium and avoid alcohol, smoking and mental stress.

Diet :  

 The patient was advised to avoid cheese, ghee, hydro generated oils, meat and sugar. He was asked to have cereals, pulses, vegetables and fruits which are rich source of soluble fiber.

Medicine :  

The patient was treated with Jaharamohara Pisti(Powder), Chandraprabha Vati(Tablet), Sarpagathadi Vati(Tablet), Mukta Pisti(Powder), Shankhabhasma(Powder), Arogyavardhini  Vati(tablet), Sitopaladi Churna(Powder) and Kamyab Churna(Powder) etc.

Considerations :  

 
The patient was asked to do brisk walking - morning and evening and engage in some form of light household work like sweeping, washing a few vessels, washing his own handkerchiefs or under wears etc. to improve blood circulation and tone up the muscles.

 His treatment  lasted for 6 months whereby he learnt to control his blood pressure.  

CASESTUDY – V 

Name : Mr. S.R.

Age :   

45 years
Treatment from :  03/01/1999
Symptoms :  Fear, anxiety, Loss of vigour and vitality, powerlessness, doubts.
Diagnosis : Impotency – “Napoonsakta”

Treatment :    

The patient was advised to perform psychophysical asanas in yoga, to prevent thoughts and feelings that create tensions, avoid smoking, hard drinks and drugs. He was asked not to withhold the natural flow of urine.

Diet :   

 He was asked to take a balanced diet – to take fruits before food and Cucumber, Plantain, Pomegrante, Raddish after food. To eat ‘Roti’ made of sewed wheat flour, pulses, cheese, spinach, ginger, onion etc. He was advised an intake of dry fruits – like Currants and almonds soaked overnight etc. with milk.

Medicines : 

He was given Kamchudamani Rasa(Tablet), Viryashodhan Vati(Tablet), Va-nari Vati(Tablet),  Siddha Makardhwaj Vati(Tablet), Kaucha Pak(Liquid) and Shilajit Capsule, and  Kamyab Churna.

Considerations : 

To lead normal regular life. Eat at regular intervals and sleep at proper times.

 The treatment lasted for 6 months whereby he regained his virility.  

 CASESTUDY – VI

Name : Ms. Shilpa
Age :   31 years

Treatment from :

02/03/2001
Symptoms :  Weakness, thin in body, anemic, lethargic, stressed.
Diagnosis :  Leucorrhea (White Discharge) – “Shwetapradaara”.

Treatment :  

The patient was given following suggestions :-

Maintain good health, exercise regularly to build resistance to infections and to keep the vaginal area clean by washing with plenty of water and pad dry afterwards, to wipe the anus after defecation from the front to back, to prevent infection from stools entering the vagina, wear clean cotton panties changing frequently, use pads specially at nights, keep blood sugar under control, drink plenty of water.

Diet :  

The women was asked to eat plenty of green leafy vegetables to take plenty of fresh curds and Roti made from sewed wheat or barely flour. She was also advised to cut down sugar, fragmented foods – mushrooms, pastries, cheese puddings and alcohol. She was recommended to boil horse gram in water and take the supernatant fluid daily and to avoid fried hot and spicy foods, pickles and Maida.

Medicines :    

She was put on Herbal Medicines like Amlaki, Lodhra, Ashoka, Udumber, Yastimadhu, Mocha Rasa and Nagakesar.

Considerations : 

During periods, she was advised to use clean cotton cloth or pads instead of tampons; both she and her partner were asked to wash hands and genitals before and after intercourse and use a condom for additional protection. Avoid using perfumes, deodorants, soaps, sprays and other chemical products.

 The treatment lasted for 6 months.
